COLLABORATE, CREATE, EXHIBIT!
This annual program brings National Art Honor Society (NAHS) Chapters together to collaborate, create and exhibit! Students from different high schools meet in the Museum, learn about artwork on view and ultimately create and exhibit their work during a Museum event in the spring.
This year marked the 6th annual National Art Honor Society 6×6 Collaborative in partnership with Cold Spring Harbor HS, Half Hollow Hills East HS, Half Hollow Hills West HS, Harborfields HS, Hicksville HS, Oyster Bay HS, Northport HS, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK HS, and Syosset HS. Students were inspired by works featured at The Heckscher Museum of Art and the theme ‘Earth Day Every Day’. Students visited the Museum in Fall 2019 and participated in art-related team building with NAHS members from across Long Island. Then, each student created a 6-inch by 6-inch square work of art for display. The presentation below features all works of art included in this year’s final digital display!
