Town of Huntington’s Pink in the Park Breast Cancer Prevention and Education Fair in Heckscher Park

The Museum is happy to be a part of this special day of inspiration and support in Heckscher Park! Enjoy creative pink activities for families and children. Create an artful bra in collaboration with artist Susan Buroker and Bblg gallery in Smithtown. Leave an inspirational message for someone on our “Giving Tree”, create a pink beaded keychain or bracelet, and take home a pin to let everyone know that you are a supporter!

Hispanic Heritage Month Sculpture Sunday
Featuring artist Erwin List Sanchez

Join us for a pop-up sculpture program one Sunday each month! Each playful and educational experience is a hands-on opportunity for young artists and visitors of all ages to explore the basics of sculpting using model magic sculpting clay. Meet artist Erwin List Sanchez and create an imaginative animal inspired by the artist’s Mexican cartonería.

Art & ASL for All: Community Quilt in Heckscher Park

Saturday, October 11, 2025 (Rain Date: Sunday, October 12)
12 – 3 pm

Join us for a fun day exploring American Sign Language, art, and community! Learn introductory ASL signs and create an original self-portrait.  Complete your artwork by adding the ASL letter signs for your name. Take your creation home or share it with the community in a large display. This event was developed with and for the Deaf community in collaboration with Heckscher Museum’s Accessibility Advisory Group members Dawn DeRisi and Susie Sussman.  ASL interpretation will be available. All abilities and ages are welcome.

Please Note: This event will take place outdoors during the Long Island Fall Festival in Heckscher Park. The Museum building will be closed to the public October 11 – 12.

PORTFOLIO REVIEW NIGHT FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Each October, the Museum offers this free event for high school students preparing for the college admissions process. Gain insight and receive invaluable feedback from admission counselors! Bring your portfolio for one-on-one review by representatives from the following colleges/universities:*
