Explore the many possibilities of collage and image transfers with artist and Director of Media, Visual & Performing Arts at Long Beach Public Schools, Julia Lang-Shapiro. Get your own photos off your phone and into your artwork! First, explore the photography exhibition Berenice Abbott and get inspired by the black and white photography of this groundbreaking female artist. Then, explore collage and image transfer techniques designed to open your imagination and encourage experimentation. Creating collages is the perfect medium because you are not starting from scratch. Source material for collages can be anything: fabric, paper, even a candy wrapper! Add in image transfers and the possibilities are endless!Â

*Fee includes all supplies. This program is BOCES aidable. Participants receive a certificate for 2 CTLE Hours after the workshop takes place. The Heckscher Museum of Art is a NYSED CTLE Approved Provider.
