Juneteenth Freedom Day

The Heckscher Museum is happy to be part of this community event held in Heckscher Park and also to stay open late until 6 pm in coordination with this special day! Juneteenth Freedom Day celebrates African American culture, history, and achievements, while also acknowledging the ongoing necessity to remain resilient in the ongoing fight against systemic racism and injustice. Come celebrate Freedom. Come celebrate Juneteenth. Come home to Huntington where history is not forgotten, it’s celebrated! The day will include: historical reflections, music, dancing, food trucks, giveaways, raffles, cultural experiences and much, much more throughout the day. Bring lawn chairs!

A Night of Pride At the Museum

Join us for an unforgettable night to celebrate Pride Month at the Museum’s latest social series, The Mix! Catch live performances by live musicians and a drag queen-led bingo session. Enjoy and sip on a curated selection of specialty cocktails inspired by the colors of the Pride flag, indulge in gourmet offerings from Off The Bone Food Truck and take in our newest exhibition while exploring the galleries. Join us as we expand the boundaries of art, culture, and connection—creating a space where everyone can see themselves reflected in the museum’s walls!
