Weekend Fun with Big Ink

The Heckscher Museum along with BIG INK, Inc., hosted a fun and busy weekend for artists, adults, kids and families. The well-attended “Print Your Art Out”  event allowed Long Island artists to create woodblock prints — a technique featured in Global Asias: Contemporary Asian and Asian American Art from the Collection of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation.  Artists had the opportunity to have their work printed on the oversized Big Tuna printer. Families were treated to creative printing activities. Artist Emily Martin, Summer interns Vanessa Hayden and Aliyah Martin from Adelphi University, and Heckscher Museum Educators guided unique print-based projects for all visitors.
