Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the Museum

Family Hour SundayEngaging art experiences, creative family activities, and audio tours in English and Spanish are in store for visitors during a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month at The Heckscher Museum.  A series of events are planned throughout October around the prestigious Long Island Biennial exhibition now on view.  See the full October Calendar in Spanish and English.

The highlights include:

Sunday, October 2:
Art Walk in Huntington Village
1 to 3 pm Visitors will meet exhibiting artists Beth Atkinson, Darlene Blaurock, Peter Galasso, and Shawn McAvoy in the galleries.
3 to 4 pm
Artist Diego Garcia will be in the gallery demonstrating his process.
4 pm A bilingual tour of the Long Island Biennial exhibition with Museum Docents.

Sunday, October 16
Dual Language Family Hour
10:30 to 11:30 am 
Enjoy a dual language Family Hour Sunday in both Spanish and English! Children ages 5 through 10 are invited for a family-friendly art experience with Museum Educator Tami Wood and guest educator Karina Gaminez. Explore works of art in the Museum and create fun art projects.

Mini Audio Tour of Long Island Biennial – Artist and Biennial Juror Gabriela Gonzalez Dellosso presents an audio tour of selected works in the exhibition in both Spanish and English. 

Family Activity Guides will be available in both English and Spanish.
