The Heckscher Museum is happy to offer several different ways for kids to experience art this summer! Details below.

Drop-In Workshops, July 8 – August 14
Looking for a flexible option or one-time experience? Join us for Drop-In Workshops for Kids on Wednesdays and Fridays, July 8 through August 14, 10:30 – 11:30 am. Each workshop will have a unique art project, with an emphasis on exploring a variety of materials and techniques. No registration is required.

School’s Out! Art’s In! Workshops, August 24 – 27
Make your child’s last week of summer unforgettable! Sign up for one (or both) of our two-day School’s Out! Art’s In! Summer Workshops, Monday through Thursday, August 24 – 27, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm.

Drop-In Workshops

Wednesdays & Fridays, July 8 to August 14, 2026
Ages 5 – 10
10:30  – 11:30 am

Children ages five through ten are invited to the Museum to create fun works of art in a variety of materials inspired by artwork in the Museum! Each week’s project will be exciting and different. Programs will be held both in the Museum and in Heckscher Park, weather-permitting. No advance registration required.

$10 per child, Free for Members

*Exhibiting Artist Eileen Shaloum will be a Special Guest Artist at the Friday, July 17 workshop! Meet the artist, learn about her artwork, and create your own masterpiece!

School's Out! Art's In! Workshops

Monday – Thursday, August 24 – 27, 2026
Entering Grades 2 – 5, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

School may be closed, but The Heckscher is open! Children are invited to explore works of art on display in the Museum and then create original works of art inspired by what they see. Participants will be given individual attention and work in a variety of media and techniques. Projects will be brought home at the end of the second day of each workshop. Sign up for one or both! Bring a snack and water bottle. Registration required. Space is limited. 

$85 per child per workshop
