During this exciting collaboration between school and cultural institution, primary, intermediate, middle school and high school art teachers and students worked closely with Heckscher Museum of Art educators. Through a series of in-classroom activities, and museum visits combined with hands-on art experiences, students were encouraged to further their understanding of art while exploring the works on view within a cultural context. Along with discussion, such activities as creative writing and drawing as a tool for seeing, have been designed to heighten visual awareness.
