10 am – 12 pm – Individual Ceremonies
12 pm – Group Ceremony

The Heckscher Museum of Art welcomes couples to celebrate love, art, and joy, while having their marriage vows renewed and or officiated, by Town Clerk Andrew Raia, on the steps of the Heckscher Museum in beautiful Heckscher Park, in Huntington, NY on Saturday June 28th.

The event is being organized, in connection with the Museum’s current exhibition, All of Me with All of You: LGBTQ+ Art Out of the Collection, to celebrate the important 10 year milestone anniversary of the Obergefell v. Hodges Supreme Court decision recognizing same-sex couples’ right to marry in the United States.

Huntington Town Clerk Andrew Raia will be performing marriage ceremonies, for free, by appointment, from 10 am to 12 pm, every 20 minutes. Couples must register ahead of time to secure a time slot for Saturday June 28th, and must visit the Town Clerk’s office at least 24 hours in advance of the ceremony to secure a marriage license. For more information go to:  https://www.huntingtonny.gov/marriage-licenses

At 12 pm, any couple wanting to renew their vows (or participate in a celebratory non-binding ceremony) are welcome to take part in a joyful group ceremony on the Heckscher Museum terrace. Registration for the group ceremony is also required and can be done below. Photographs will be available for purchase by participants. Proceeds will support the non-profit Museum’s future public programming.

“We’re thrilled to celebrate the Anniversary of this important Supreme Court case affirming the constitutional rights of couples throughout this nation and reaffirming the concepts of love, justice, and equality. We are thankful to Mr. Raia for his enthusiastic participation and partnership in this event.” said Heather Arnet, Executive Director and CEO, The Heckscher Museum of Art.

“As Huntington’s Town Clerk and Town Marriage Officer, it is an honor to join with Heckscher Museum to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the United States Supreme Court’s affirmation of same-sex marriage throughout the United States. The Town of Huntington has long been a community that cherishes its diversity and inclusivity,” said Andrew Raia, Huntington Town Clerk and Town Marriage Officer.
