PLEIN AIR PAINTING IN HECKSCHER PARK
with Artist Christine D’Addario

11 am – 4 pm

Join artist Christine D’Addario for a special day of painting en plein air in Heckscher Park, just steps outside of the Museum! Begin the day with a short tour at The Heckscher Museum, viewing both historical and contemporary landscape paintings. Then head outside in beautiful Heckscher Park, find the perfect spot, and spend the afternoon painting en plein air, guided by renowned artist Christine D’Addario.

$50 Members, $60 Non-Members
Bring a brown bag lunch and your own painting supplies.

YOGA IN THE GALLERIES
Art & Movement with Jesse Curran

Enjoy the uplifting experience of hatha yoga in one of Huntington’s most inspiring architectural spaces. This all-levels class provides an occasion to align the breath and body with some of the shapes and rhythms that are animated by the work currently on view in the Museum. Please bring your own mat and a blanket, as well as any other yoga props that you use in your practice.

BILINGUAL FAMILY HOUR (Spanish & English)

Enjoy the Heckscher Museum’s special Bilingual Family Hour Sundays in both Spanish and English! Children ages 5 through 10 are invited for a family-friendly art experience with Museum Educator Tami Wood and guest educator Karina Giménez. Explore works of art in the Museum and create fun art projects!

HUNTINGTON PUBLIC ART CRAWL

Saturday, June 8
12 – 5 pm

The Heckscher is happy to participate in this Huntington-wide event. Enjoy the exhibitions and docents in the galleries throughout the day. From 1 to 3 pm, join New York based visual artist Edward Acosta for a painting demonstration. Passionate about bold design, Acosta merges an array of techniques including Pop Art, Street Art, Graffiti, and Abstract Expressionism in his work.

PRIDE CELEBRATION
in coordination with the Long Island Pride Parade

Sunday, June 9
12 – 5 pm

Celebrate Pride and the LGBTQ+ community during this special day at the Museum! The Long Island Pride Parade will end in Heckscher Park, just outside the Museum. Then join us in the Museum and meet Latinx Mixed Media artist, Melissa Misla. Pride coloring books, flags, pins, and stickers will be available free all day.
