SUMMER COMMUNITY DINNER
Art + Community = Democracy
Friday, August 28, 2026
5 – 8 pmÂ
Inspired by the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the Museum’s 100th Anniversary of Eclipse of the Sun by George Grosz, this community dinner brings people from all walks of life together around a shared table for an open and welcoming conversation on shared experiences, art, civic life, and freedom under the summer stars.
This evening will feature cuisine from T.O.A. Asian Fusion, which gives guests the opportunity to enjoy foods and flavors that reflect the many cultures and communities of Long Island. The Museum will also offer extended gallery hours, with select Biennial artists in the galleries from 5-6 pm to speak with visitors near their artwork and share insights into their creative practices. From 6-8 pm, everyone is invited to gather for a community dinner outside the Museum. Seating and meals will be available while supplies last. Whether you come with friends, family, or on your own, we warmly welcome you to pull up a chair, share a meal, and connect with others through art, conversation, and togetherness.
