Celebrate the opening weekend of Eclipse of the Sun Now with the Heckscher Museum at The Standard, East Village. The evening will bring together artists, cultural organizers, and community voices for a conversation about the Latinx artists featured in the exhibition and their connections to contemporary Hispanic and Latino/a artists using their work to speak about identity, immigration, politics, culture, and the issues affecting their communities today.

The Museum is excited to be a part of this annual self-guided tour of the new exhibits at museums and galleries in the Village of Huntington. Explore the exhibition Eclipse of the Sun Now as well as a special display of award-winning student artwork in the 2026 Huntington Hispanic Heritage First Annual Art Contest in collaboration with the Town of Huntington Hispanic Advisory Task Force.

Families are invited to celebrate and learn about how this holiday is celebrated around the world. Meet and create works of art inspired by this celebration with artists Filiberto Perez-Mendoza, who will be designing this year’s ofrenda, as well as artists Sueey Gutierrez and Manuel Alejandro Macarrulla. Bring your own photographs or other personal items to leave at the ofrenda to honor and remember your loved ones.
